This Privacy Policy explains what information Threads Downloader processes when you use the website, why it is processed, and the choices you have. Threads Downloader is designed to work without accounts, logins or registration.
Information we process
We keep the information we handle to the minimum needed for the tool to work.
Links you submit
When you paste a Threads post link and press Download, the link is sent to our server so it can request that public post from Threads and find the media files attached to it. The link is used only to complete your request.
Technical request data
Like every website, our server receives your IP address and basic browser information with each request. We use the IP address briefly and in memory to limit excessive requests and protect the service from abuse. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs under its own policies.
Information we do not collect
- We do not ask for your Threads, Instagram or Meta credentials.
- We do not require an account, name, email address or phone number to use the tool.
- We do not sell personal information.
How downloaded media is handled
Media files are streamed from Threads' content servers through our server directly to your device. We do not keep a copy of the files you download. To keep the tool fast, the list of media found for a post may be held in server memory for up to five minutes and is then discarded.
Advertising and analytics
At the time of the last update, Threads Downloader does not use third-party advertising or analytics services. If this changes, this policy will be updated before those services are enabled, and it will name each provider and link to its privacy policy.
Third-party content
The media you download is hosted by Threads, a service operated by Meta Platforms, Inc. Requests for that media are subject to Meta's own terms and privacy practices, which we do not control.
Children's privacy
Threads Downloader is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to its processing. Because we do not keep accounts or store submitted links, we usually hold no personal information to return. You can still contact us with any request and we will respond.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change too.
